Patient: Kate
John is a very experienced dentist and has a successful practice in Scotland. He was interested in taking his practice to the highest level, and chose his partner Kate to come on the Course as his patient. Kate had old porcelain veneers that she wanted improved. The gums had receeded and Kate felt she did not show enough tooth amounts at the incisal edges. There was a loosening LR8 that was actually an occlusal interference. Kate had implants at UR4 and UL5. Her desire was to have a white, glamorous smile. We did the upper 8 front teeth on the Course and John was going to carry on with further dental care back in his Practice. The most interesting thing in this case was the amount of time and attention to detail we spent at the review stage as Kate wanted to show more teeth and also have a whiter smile. The trial smile was B1, but Kate wanted to go much whiter. A detailed conversation was required and it was concluded that lower veneers would have to be done by John based on Kate’s colour request. The all tissue laser was used to remove gum tissue as well as bone (i.e. non surgical crown lengthening) where required. This was also a great case in terms of controlling the occlusion whilst doing the treatment. Kate was really happy with her new smile. We also enjoyed the discussions on how John and Kate would make strategic changes in their Practice to do more cosmetic dentistry.
